Because the house isn’t a new build and includes many meaningful pieces I’ve collected and inherited—especially Native American art from my father—her ability to work within that context was important. She helped thoughtfully curate and organize these pieces, including designing a custom shelving unit to properly display the collection. Dana also contributed to refreshing our fireplace with custom elements and worked with me on upholstery and new furnishings, blending them with existing pieces to create an eclectic, personal feel. In addition, she assisted with the design of my custom closet and garage organization system, helping bring more function and order to those spaces. She was available and supportive throughout the process, including traveling with me to Los Angeles to help refine selections. I especially appreciated her willingness to collaborate and allow me to guide the overall direction, rather than imposing a singular design vision.
