About
Our Design Philosophy
Sedona Style was born from a deep respect for place, craft, and the way our surroundings shape how we feel.
Rooted in the red rocks of Sedona, this studio exists to create spaces that feel grounded, calm, and deeply personal—homes that support connection, presence, and everyday living with intention.
Design, here, is not about excess.
It is about harmony—with the land, with natural materials, and with the people who live within the space.

What We Do
We design interiors that feel as natural as they are intentional.
From Full-Service Residential Design and Remodels to thoughtful Refreshes and Virtual Consultations, our work centers on guiding clients through complex decisions with clarity and care.
We manage the details—so the experience feels calm rather than overwhelming.

Every project is shaped by:
A strong sense of place, rooted in the landscape
A deep connection to nature that supports well-being
Timeless materials chosen for longevity, not trends
The Journey Behind Sedona Style
A life in design, rooted in the land and shaped by connection.
Rooted in Place
Growing up in Sedona’s red rock landscape fostered an early sensitivity to natural form, texture, light, and color, and a love for the land’s rhythm and harmony.
A Life in Design
Over three decades, residential, remodel, and hospitality projects across the Southwest deepened both technical expertise and intuitive design judgment.
Design as Restoration
An evolving understanding of how light, materials, and spatial flow affect the nervous system shifted the work from purely aesthetic to deeply restorative.
Sedona Style Emerges
Growing up in Sedona’s red rock landscape fostered an early sensitivity to form, texture, light, and color, and a love for the land’s rhythm and harmony.
Stewardship & Connection
A continued commitment to local artisans, eco-conscious materials, and honoring the land that inspires every project, creating spaces that celebrate craft, nature, and beauty.
About Dana Cavanaugh
Founder | Designer | Steward of Place
Dana Cavanaugh is the founder of Sedona Style and principal designer of Dana Cavanaugh Designs.
For more than three decades, her work has been shaped by an intimate understanding of Sedona’s landscape—its light, climate, rhythms, and quiet beauty.
Raised among the red rocks and creative community of Northern Arizona, Dana developed an early sensitivity to natural form, texture, and color. That relationship to place continues to guide her work today, informing how spaces are shaped, how materials are chosen, and how homes support the people who live within them.
Dana’s approach balances creativity with stewardship.
Craftsmanship, sustainability, and collaboration with trusted local trades and artisans remain central to every project. Rather than designing for trend or excess, she believes interiors should feel grounded, functional, and deeply connected—to the land, to daily life, and to one another.
Sedona Style is the design philosophy Dana developed over a lifetime of living and working in the red rock landscape—a way of creating homes that honor place, invite presence, and evolve naturally with the people who call them home.
Sedona is not merely the setting of this work—it is the foundation of how we design.
The landscape teaches restraint, balance, and reverence, values that guide every project, from material selection to spatial flow.
With over 30 years of experience in Sedona and the surrounding region, Sedona Interior Designer, Dana Cavanaugh brings grounded elegance and clarity to every project. The work is shaped by both technical expertise and an intimate understanding of desert living—its light, climate, rhythms, and beauty. Craftsmanship, sustainability, and collaboration with local trades remain central to the studio’s approach.
This is a design that respects the land and the people who call it home.
Our Approach, In Practice
Every project begins with listening—to you, to the space, and to how you want to live within it. From there, we guide the process with clarity, care, and respect for place.
